Some homes are far away from complete before Clean Water Center gets called out for a consultation. This customer was working on building a home on a property in which the previous residence was removed. The well had be established for years and was seeing regular use. Before putting new appliances in the homeowner wanted to be sure they would last. Our Project Coordinator suggested the ES-1044, a perfect solution for the conditions and exactly what the homeowner was looking for.
A somewhat uncommon occurrence in Wisconsin well water is Manganese naturally occurring in the water. Thankfully, when this does happen, we have a relatively simple solution, an iron filter. Iron and Manganese behave similarly in water so by trying to treat the iron they had in the water we also treat the manganese is also treated. Installing an iron filter before their water softener will also make the softener potentially last longer and more salt efficient.
Mr. and Mrs. P. had purchased a home that had higher levels of sulfur, and the sulfur if not treated would cause a terrible rotten egg odor. The new home they were moving into luckily had a system in place to handle the odor, but the system they had used chlorine/bleach and required regular maintenance that they did not care for. After visiting the home and testing their sulfur levels, our Project Coordinator found that the sulfur levels were not extreme enough to treat with chlorine, but that they could get great quality sulfur free water with an air charge system that had much less maintenance and did not deal with any chemicals. They now have odor free water without the use of chemicals.
Mr. and Mrs. S had moved into a new home that had a well as the water source and noticed a rotten-egg like smell, and it wasn't the most appealing to drink either. The equipment that was there addressed sulfur and the hardness of the water, but was unable to do so successfully. We applied our EV2-1054-MIN in this case because it's our "All-in-one" system; it can handle higher iron levels, some odor, and hard water, so in order to save our customers on cost and potential maintenance, we went with this option that had the Lifetime Warranty. To address their drinking water quality, we also installed our State Certified Ultroflow Reverse Osmosis that provides an 80%-98% reduction in everything else that is in the water. This system provides bottled water quality from their on water source. They now have odor free water and enjoy drinking the water on a regular basis.
Mr. and Mrs. J had an older water softener that hadn't been working for years, so they had hard water and iron that was wreaking havoc on their home. After we had a Project Coordinator visit them and do some testing on their water conditions, they found that the EVR was the best fit because it could handle the levels of iron that they had and it would soften their water consistently and efficiently. They are now iron free and living with soft water.
