This customer called the Clean Water Center because he was looking for new water treatment equipment because they were occasionally noticing a "Wet Dog Smell" from the water. A Project Coordinator was able to go out to his house shortly after to test the water and offer solutions. When the Project Coordinator went out, the customer had said that their current unit has not been using salt, but can still hear it running at night. After testing the water, she found 23 gpg of hardness, and .8ppm of iron in the water. After further looking into their situation, they had found iron bacteria in the back of the toilets, and that could be the cause of the smell they were getting from the water.
They talked over solutions, and after finding 5 people live in their house the customer and the Project Coordinator decided that an EVR-1054 on the maintenance plan was a good way to go, as then we can monitor and maintain the new softener for the .8ppm of iron coming into the house, and should be able to prevent the "Wet Dog Smell" from ever happening again.
Mr. K. and his family live in Milwaukee and have a lake home in Campbellsport, WI. They had a much older Water Right water softener in place and this was original from when they first purchased, but it was no longer functioning properly. Mr. K stated that even when it was working well, they still received stains and odors. After testing the water for iron, sulfur, and other water conditions, we found that they had sulfur present, which causes a rotten egg smell in the water. Not just that, but iron kept finding it's way past the water softener as well. Because of these concerns, we found that the EVFE iron filter was going to be the best for for this family's lake home. It is capable of removing iron and lower levels of sulfur in one piece of equipment. The K. family now has odorless water that doesn't stain their fixtures and appliances; not just that, but because of those two concerns being addressed, the water is now tasting much better than before.
This customer called the Clean Water Center, as they had equipment installed already but kept finding hard water issues and Iron staining around their house. When the Project Coordinator came to their house to assess the situation, there was a noticeable rotten egg (sulfur) smell and the water from the pressure tank came out orange.
The Project Coordinator went over new softeners, as well as an Iron Filter to help combat the sulfur and Ferric Iron coming into the house. The customer decided to have us install a new EVRS-1044 softener, as well as an EVFE-1054 iron filter.
The family will now enjoy clean water to their house, with less cleaning!
Mr. and Mrs. K. had recently installed a new water softener and reverse osmosis system in their home and expected the water quality to be up to par after installing the new equipment. However, they were seeing black residue in the bathroom sinks and they specifically would notice more of it in the parts of the house that had less traffic as well. They had spoken with multiple different plumbers and companies to find out what the problem was and how they could best take care of it. It seemed that they were receiving different ideas from different people. Luckily, we were one of the phone calls, so we sent a Project Coordinator to get a first hand look at what the problem was. After some testing and observation, it was found that the home had precipitated sulfur. Sulfur is typically a gas that causes a foul odor, but in their case, the odor was minimal and the sulfur gas was precipitated into a black greasy fleck that was seen throughout the house. The new water softener they installed was not intended to handle sulfur, so they chose to install our EVS sulfur filter to capture all sulfur, whether it was gas or precipitated. Now they have zero odor and zero black residue in their bathrooms.
We had a customer who was in a local Lowes store looking for some new water treatment. The customer was talking with the plumbing associates regarding getting a new softener and they recommended to have us come out and test the water and see what they needed. This a program we do with the Lowes stores as a professional partner and we offer a line of AO smith softeners that are a professional graded equipment. The customer liked the idea of us taking care of everything from the install, removal of old softener and on going service on the softener. We stopped out at the home to test the water and check out the install location, we then went over some options and the homeowner went with the AOS softener. After a clean a quick install the homeowner was happy to have soft water again!
